The plecostomus, also known as the pleco is a freshwater species of armored catfish belonging to the Loricariidae family. There are more than 150 species of plecos identified today.

The Coastguard Cottages Tearoom serves drinks, snacks, and light-bites. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead from March 1 to August 31. The National Trust also offers holiday cottages for those who want to stay longer.
